The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, admitted that his forecast on the timing of the liberation of Crimea did not come true.
He said this in an interview with Radio Liberty.
“Yes, we fell out of the schedule. Yes, unfortunately, we must admit that events are developing more slowly than they should be according to all calculations. But we have what we have,” said the head of the GUR.
Recall that in October he said that before the end of spring, Ukraine will enter the Crimea .
According to him, intelligence forecasts are based on facts, figures, the course of events, data on economic indicators, etc.
“But there is also a reality that happens, as they say, on the battlefield. The reality on the battlefield turned out to be less intense than hoped for at that time,” Budanov explained.
At the same time, he added that now the level of hostilities in Crimea is much more intense than last year.
“That is, we are moving towards the goal. Yes, slower than we wanted, slower than expected, but we are moving,” Budanov said.
The day before yesterday, Budanov promised that one of these days the Ukrainians will see how the occupiers are being destroyed on the territory of Crimea .
