“The units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense landed as part of a special operation, all tasks were completed,” said Andrey Yusov, a spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate, without giving further details.

Yusov later clarified that there were no losses among the personnel on the part of Ukraine , but there were losses on the part of the enemy.

As of 12.00, representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate Andrey Chernyak and Andrey Yusov, in a commentary to RBC Ukraine , reported that the Ukrainian military had already returned after the special operation, having completed the assigned tasks. According to representatives of the GUR, the operation itself “had the character of a raid.

Around 13:00 on August 24, the GUR issued a press release regarding the operation. It was noted that “during the execution of the task, the Ukrainian defenders entered into a clash with the occupier’s units. As a result, the enemy suffered losses among the personnel, enemy equipment was destroyed.”

It is also noted that in the Ukrainian Crimea, the state flag again flew up.

The department assured that all the goals and objectives of the operation were completed, and upon its completion, the Ukrainian defenders left the scene without loss.

Enemy losses

In a comment to Suspіlny,  the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Andrei Yusov, added that as a result of a special operation near the Mayak settlement in the occupied Crimea, the Ukrainian military damaged four enemy speedboats and killed at least 30 Russians.

Too early to talk about liberation of Crimea – Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on this special operation , warned that it was too early to talk about the liberation of the peninsula.

“It’s too early to talk about the liberation of Crimea. Second, I will have a detailed report from General Budanov. Third, yes, these are our guys . Fourth, there are no casualties on our side , this is good news,” the head of state said.

Why is this place important and what is located there

According to the same “Crimea. Realities”, the base of the 3rd radio-technical regiment is located in the village of Mayak as part of the radio-technical troops of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation.

Also on the Tarkhankut Peninsula there is a radar node – the Nebo-M radar and the Kasta-2E2 radar . Positions for air defense were prepared along the perimeter.

Military analyst Pavel Narozhny, in a comment to Focus , confirmed that this is the location of Russian air defense systems. In particular, we are talking about the Bastion missile defense system and the Pantsir-S1 air defense missile system .

In addition, there is a training ground for Russian infantry on the cape, and there are fortifications on the shore to protect against attacks from the sea.

According to him, from this cape, probably, the invaders launch Onyx missiles , which fire at the port infrastructure of Ukraine.

“If our units landed on Tarkhankut, which is of strategic importance, then, therefore, they can land at other points. I’m not sure if it’s in Sevastopol or other densely populated areas, but everything is possible,” says Narozhny.

Budanov explained why this operation

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, said that the special operation with the landing of Ukrainian intelligence officers in Crimea on August 24 was important for Ukrainians to believe in victory not only on the mainland of the state, but also on the peninsula.

“So that (people – ed.) remember and believe that victory is not far off, and their liberation is not far off, that no one has forgotten about them,” the head of the GUR added.

He also announced a ground operation to de-occupy Crimea.

In addition, Budanov said that Ukrainian forces can hit any part of the temporarily occupied Crimea as of now, at any point.

What the invaders say

Russian propagandists were forced to admit that the Ukrainian landing force actually visited the coast of Crimea. Of course, the Russians bravely “reported” that four boats with the Ukrainian military “were destroyed.”

The propaganda Telegram channel SHOT counted 15-20 Ukrainian soldiers “killed”, but did not provide any evidence . Knowing how propagandists can brag about non-existent victories , we can assume that here the Russians are also dispersing fake information about our losses.

The Russian Ministry of Defense and the local occupational so-called “authorities” did not comment on this information.

Earlier, an enemy S-400 was destroyed on Tarkhankut

It should be noted that it was on Cape Tarkhankut, near the village of Olenevka, yesterday, August 23, that the Russian anti-aircraft missile system of long and medium range S-400 “Triumph” was destroyed as a result of an explosion .

“There are very few S-400 systems by themselves, this is one of the latest such developments. And besides, since this is one of their most modern weapons and means of air and missile defense, then, of course, this will have systemic consequences for the development of events in Crimea,” said Andrey Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
